# Product history

See every price change, stock change and edit of a product, and who made it.

Source: https://about.sukbay.com/docs/product-history · Part of the Sukbay documentation (Run your shop).

Open a product and choose the **History** tab. It is the log of everything that happened to that product, newest first, with the person, the time and the before and after values.

## What is recorded

| Filter | What you see |
| --- | --- |
| All changes | Everything below, together. |
| Batches | A batch was created, edited, verified or deleted. |
| Stock added | Units came in (a new batch or an increase). |
| Stock reduced | Units went out (sale, damage report, correction). |
| Price changes | The selling price or a batch price changed, from X to Y. |
| Updates | Name, category, unit or other details were edited. |
| Transfers | Stock moved between warehouses. |

## Why it matters

- Answer "why did the stock change?" with a name and a time.
- Check who changed a price, and when.
- Keep a trail when several employees work with stock.

## Editing a batch's quantity

When you reduce a batch's quantity and the batch is kept in more than one warehouse, Sukbay **asks which warehouse the units should be taken from**. That choice is saved in the history, so each warehouse's stock stays right.

## Selling strategy

In Settings › Selling Strategy choose which batch a sale takes from:

| Strategy | How it picks a batch |
| --- | --- |
| First In, First Out (FIFO) — default | The oldest batch first. Best for goods that spoil or expire. |
| Last In, First Out (LIFO) | The newest batch first. |
| Cheapest cost first | The batch that cost you least first. |
| I choose myself | You pick the batch for each sale. |
