## Adding an expense

1. **Press Add expense.** Enter the title, amount, category and date.
2. **Choose how it is paid.** Cash, bank, Telebirr and so on, and whether it is already paid.
3. **Make it recurring (optional).** Turn on *Repeat monthly* for rent, utilities or subscriptions. Sukbay creates a new entry for you every period.

Categories include Inventory, Marketing, Office Supplies, Salaries and Utilities. Filter by category, date range or payment method, and search by title.

## Three tabs

- **Expenses** — every entry, newest first, with monthly totals. Salaries paid from Employees appear here too.
- **Recurring** — your templates. A recurring expense is a template: it creates a new entry each period. You can **stop** it, **start again** or edit it.
- **Customer debts** — money customers owe you, shown as cards you can share, edit or settle.

## History & export

*History* shows changes to your expenses. *Export* downloads the list for your accountant.

> **Tip:** Use *Sync Customer Debts* if a debt does not appear after a sale — it rebuilds the list from your unpaid orders.

## Recurring expenses in detail

Turn on repeating for rent, electricity, security or any cost that comes back. Choose the period: **hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly**.

- Each recurring expense is a template card showing its amount, period, **next due date** and how many entries it has created.
- Sukbay creates a new entry in the Expenses list each period and you get a notification.
- **Stop repeating** pauses it; you can start it again. Use the history button to see every entry it created and the pencil to edit it.
- A weekly expense also shows its approximate monthly cost.
- Turn on *Show auto-created* in the Expenses tab to see the entries Sukbay made for you.

## Collecting a customer debt

1. **Open Customer debts.** Each customer with unpaid orders has a card listing those orders.
2. **Press Edit.** A payment window opens with the customer, **Total owed**, **Unpaid orders** and **Paying now**.
3. **Enter amounts.** For each order type an amount or press **Half** or **Full**. **Pay everything** fills all of them.
4. **Process payment.** The orders are updated and the debt goes down. Press Share to send the customer their debt statement link.
